American Idol: The red streak ends

by guest bloggers Becky Tennant and Bethany O’Neil

Last night on American Idol, we bid adieu to Gina Glockson, the rocker chick with the tongue piercing and red streaks in her hair. And while we figured she wouldn’t be the next American Idol, we definitely think she has way more talent than the other gal in the bottom, Haley.

However, with the way the show is going this year, it wasn’t a surprising night. Haley, while not the best singer in the bunch, has got legs that Gina just doesn’t have. Sorry to put it so bluntly; but it’s the truth. We just hope that Randy, Paula, and Simon give her some attitude next week, because she was so rude to them.

On a high point, Michael Buble showed up and sang a song from his new album, due out next month. WE LOVE HIM! It would have been nice to hear him sing “Home,” though. He seemed a bit out of sorts, but we’ll take what we can get from him. (Michael, call us, we would love to interview you sometime.)

Maybe over the next few days certain Idol hopefuls will take a step back, re-evaluate why they were picked for the show, and actually try to sing and put on a great performance next week. It's about time. We deserve something.

On a side note, we’re really looking forward to the big “Idol gives back show.” It seems to be a decent thing they are doing, and it’s for a good cause.

Until next week...
