I love it when TV stars make it on the big screen, so I’m positively giddy about the upcoming film Leatherheads. Not just because it stars former TV hunk George Clooney, but also because current TV cutie John Krasinski has a big role in the movie.
A Clooney-Krasinski combination is not a bad way to spend a couple hours this spring. The movie was originally scheduled to open on December 7, but was pushed back to April.
Take a look at the trailer below and you’ll see why I’m so excited about Leatherheads. You can visit the official site here to see photos and watch downloads.

George Clooney defeats John Krasinski in hoops
The Office star John Krasinski has game, but apparently not enough to take down movie star George Clooney.
On the set of the upcoming film, Leatherheads, Clooney and Krasinski took their skills to the basketball court, Clooney told Entertainment Weekly.
Krasinski trash-talked Clooney into a friendly game, with a $1,000 wager as the prize, Clooney said. In the end, Krasinski lost the cash and his pride, Clooney said.
Here’s what Clooney had to say about his basketball rival. (This excerpt is taken from an interview with Clooney and Brad Pitt from Entertainment Weekly.)
Interviewer: Hey, as long as we're on the subject of working with the young folk, what's going on with your football movie, Leatherheads?
Interviewer: That John Krasinski guy doesn't look that tough.

TV stars to appear at MTV Movie Awards
The MTV Movie Awards is an awards show honoring movies, so why am I talking about on a TV Web site? Two words: Josh Duhamel.
OK, to be fair there are a number of television stars slated to appear on Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards, not just Duhamel of Las Vegas. Hotties John Krasinski, from The Office, and Katherine Heigl, from Grey’s Anatomy, are scheduled to present.
Other presenters includes: Cameron Diaz, Lindsay Lohan, Victoria Beckham, Jessica Biel, Mandy Moore, Robin Williams, Justin Long, Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Samuel L. Jackson, Amanda Bynes, Chris Tucker, Seth Rogen, Shia LaBeouf, Michael Chiklis, John Travolta, Zac Efron, Tyrese Gibson, Chris Evans and Ioan Gruffudd.
Long-time readers know about my never-ending crush on Duhamel, and I admit it will probably take me to the theater to watch his new film Transformers, that I probably wouldn’t watch otherwise unless someone paid me. Duhamel fighting giant robots, it can’t be all bad can it?
Krasinski and Moore are probably attending the MTV Movie Awards to plug their new film License to Wed, which for the record I would watch, whether or not cutie Krasinski was in it. Since he is, that’s just the icing on the cake.
Mike Myers is also being honored at the show with the “MTV Generation Award” for his contributions to Hollywood. I say it’s about time Myers gets some respect. After all, where would be without his Shrek and one of the greatest words ever introduced into our vernacular: “Schwing?”
So, check out the MTV Movie Awards beginning with the pre-show coverage at 7:30 p.m. on MTV. Duhamel, Shia Lebouf and Tyrese will join MTV News’ Tim Kash to reveal a never-before-seen clip of Transformers.
The show airs at 8 p.m. on MTV live Sunday, June 3. Sarah Silverman is hosting.

Pam and Jim, I never knew
Dear Pam and Jim of "The Office,"
“I’m in love with you. It’s probably not good timing. I know that. I just… I needed you to hear it.”
Sincerely,
Tube Talk Girl
The above words, spoken by Jim Halpert, left me kicking myself this week and asking, “Why didn’t someone tell me about the power of Pam and Jim?” (OK, so Give Me My Remote, you did tell me.) The point is, I should have made time for the Dunder Mifflin gang in my busy schedule during the last two TV seasons, but there were the Lost folks, and the Neptune high kids, and the Smallville gang, and the lawyers at Crane, Poole and Schmidt, and Earl and his karmic lottery ticket and, well, you get the picture.
When The Office debuted, I watched the pilot episode, gave it a favorable review in my weekly newspaper column , and then apparently forgot it existed. Fast forward to this summer. Having heard all the buzz about the show, I decided to set my DVR to try and get all of last season’s episodes. After a two-week marathon of Office episodes, I’m hooked. I just finished watching the casino episode, the booze cruise episode, and the bring-your-daughter-to-work day episode. Brilliant, each and every one of them. And John Krasinski just may be the most underrated actor on television.
So yes, just like Jim, my timing is bad. I’m late in promoting this little show, and I already have too many hours of programming on my DVR for Thursday nights, but there it is. Please watch The Office tonight at 8:30 EST. Finally, on the very day of the brand new season, I can proudly say, “I support Office romances.”
For those of you still in the dark about why this show — and specifically Pam and Jim — have everyone from Tube Talk Girl to Joss Whedon swooning, check out this clip. (You have to wait a second for the ad to play, before the Pam/Jim goodness starts.)
