Cliff Clavin is putting on his dancing shoes.
Actor John Ratzenberger (Cheers) is replacing Vincent Pastore (The Sopranos) in this season’s Dancing With the Stars. Pastore quit the show last week, citing his physical limitations as the reason.
Ratzenberger has less than three weeks to practice for the season premiere on March 19. He’ll be paired with Edyta Sliwinksa.
Ratzenberger,59, is no stranger to television. He made windbag mailman Cliff Clavin a pop-culture icon, starring for 11 seasons on Cheers. He has since worked consistently in animated films such as Toy Story, Cars, Monsters, Inc, and Finding Nemo.
Ratzenberger had been asked previously to do the show but could not, due to scheduling conflifts.
Good luck, Cliff, er John. I hope to see Norm, Carla, Sam and the gang in the audience “cheering” you on.
