Idol chatter: Beatles, round two..HELP!

by Becky Tennant and Bethany O'Neil

Once again we were tormented by yet another Beatles week. Why? What is the point? Last week was not a great week for anyone, the viewers included, so why subject everyone to another week of it? We are asking - no begging - please move on from the Beatles!

With that being said, this week’s performances were terrible. By terrible, we mean gut-wrenching, dry-heaving, eye-pulling-out, terrible. The show wasn't worth watching. The best performers were far and few between.

David Cook, did an OK job. We would like to see him without his rocker-diva-like style for a change, though. We know, he is a rocker dude, you can't change that, and we love him for that; it would just be nice to see something different once in awhile. Reports all over the Internet say he has become worse than J. Lo before her twins were born. When he starts demanding only red M&M's, then we’ll really be worried. Please David, don't get too cocky right away.

Carly wasn't as bad as Simon made her out to be. She can sing. We think Beatles’ night and her weird outfit just got the best of her. It was really shocking to see her in the bottom three. We just wonder: was she really in the bottom, or was it a ratings/shock thing by the Idol producers?

David Archuletta wasn't even that bad. And you know that most of the contestants had to be pretty mediocre for us to say that. Our problem is, he can only sing ballads. We don't think he has the personality or voice for mainstream music. Plus as we have said it before, we "hear" his dad is a beast of a stage dad. That only spells disaster.

The bottom three this week were Carly, Amanda Overmyer, and Kristy Lee Cook. We were sure that America would finally send Kristy home. While we know we’ve been hard on her, and we will admit, she has an OK voice, she simply cannot keep the beat and does not perform well. When Ryan said "Kristy, the fans want you to stay," we screamed, "No we don't! Your the only person who likes her Ryan!" Regardless of that fit, Amanda was the next contestant voted off Idol.

Over the past few months, Amanda has fallen short of the expectations we had of her in the beginning, and we knew that she probably wouldn't make it into the top eight. But to send her home before Kristy? What is going on with that?

We would just like to say this to all the lucky people who actually go out and see the Idol tour. Let us know how Kristy does during those shows, since you will have to suffer through her, even after the show is finished.

Let's hope that next week the Top 10 will get their games back and that Kristy will get voted out. See you then.

I agree, Beatles weeks have not been good for the contestants. I didn't like Jason Castro's performance either...whats he smokin?

I didn't see many of the performances, but from the recap last night, none of them impressed me.

I like your name though :)

I think it is just guys voting for her though, she is pretty but I dont know she cant keep a beat, you can only blame the band and simon too much!

YEP! Kelly Pickler was good though.

OK, gals, what's with all the Kristy tough love? I saw Kristy's audition and thought she was good. I also saw her perform "Faithfully" and "Rescue Me." She was still good. I haven't seen her Beatles performances, though. Were they that bad? I thought she had a good voice. Dish, please!

Did Kristy blame the band and Simon?

Kristy has a good voice, I do not dispute that, but her last 2 performances were terrible!

It is going around that the band screwed up and simon told her to be more country so she tried that last week and it flopped, maybe next week we will put up a montage of kristys performances.

her rendition of "Faithfully" wasn't even that good

It was ok, I just don't think she has what it takes, even she knew her performances weren't good, just watch the tape, she thought once again she was going home.

I am going to post as Bec now since there seems to be another becky on here.

well i think Kristy has turned into the Sanjaya of this season. Who in the world is voting for this girl? Of Course she does have better hair than Sanjaya. The bad hair honor goes to Cruella Deville aka Amanda!

Amanda's hair was just too weird!

I think this show just doesn't make sense anymore, I mean, Carly in the bottom three?!

Kristy is not my favorite, but I think she is ok, and the Beatles weeks were hard on her, she was better this week than last week, although it still wasn't good.

But now, to say she was worse than Chikeze (and his harmonica) and Ramiele... it just doesn't make sense to me.... Kristy is not good enough to stay for long but she is certainly better than those two.

Chikezie and Ramiele both weren't good, we just felt like picking on her today. Actually we didn't want to go on and on. We weren't impressed by anyone person. I think that when it is country week she will do better.
Ramiele is very boring, especially now that her BFF Danny is gone.

I think that David Archuletta is a quite a talent and it looks like he has a large following. I can see some of the others going home in the next few weeks. I was surprised by Carly being in the bottom 3 she has a beautiful voice. I see the lights going down for Kristi,Chikezi and Ramiele and Mr. dreds going home (even though I love his eyes). Amanda sang every song the same and I was getting bored.
