Fanboys, don’t hate me, but I honestly know nothing about the character of Flash Gordon.
That may in fact serve me well, as the new SCI FI series Flash Gordon debuts this Friday, Aug. 10, at 9 p.m. ET.
Let me explain. I have no preconceived notions about the character or the story; therefore, I’m going in without any expectations. I’m hoping the SCI FI channel will do for Gordon what it did for Battlestar Galactica.
Frankly, it’s a TV drought during summer for quality shows, so at this point any show that doesn’t involve a talent show and judges is looking pretty good right now.
Those of you who tune in may be wondering why the main character looks so familiar. He played Whitney, Lana Lang’s boyfriend, on Smallville for a couple seasons. I'm optimistic that Flash will have a little more “flash” than Whitney did.

Tube Talk Girl, sometimes it's best you don't know the story, as in the case of Smallville. It deviates so much that it's better to sit back and enjoy the show!
Tube Talk Girl, no worries. You can catch on easily. Just google
Flash Gordon or check out the Wikipedia entry. You'll find plenty of info on Flash.
I'm excited to see Eric back on TV. I loved him as Whitney.
I heard you talking about this show on the radio Tuesday. Normally, I wouldn't watch a Sci-Fi show, but OK, I'm willing to give it a try. :)
Hey Kim! I'm glad to know someone is listening to the Tube Talk report Tuesday mornings on Magic 106.5. (Shameless plug!) Thanks.
Let me know what you think of "Flash Gordon" after it airs.
