After a too-long hiatus, The West Wing came back with a bang Sunday. The long-suffering fans of Josh and Donna finally got to see some love. (Well, a kiss at least, coupled with some longing looks and an outright pass by the lovely Ms. Moss.)
Fans of this couple have waited more than six years to see Josh make a move. So, who cares if it was Donna who slipped him her room key? I don’t blame her. Clearly, Josh can’t take a hint. His indecisiveness is enough to test the patience of a saint. I’m surprised he didn’t call Joey Lucas to do a poll on whether dating your coworker is a good move for a future relationship.
I couldn’t help but chuckle at Donna’s response to the kiss and Josh’s awkward apology for it being inappropriate. “It was bound to happen sometime,” she said. Gee, I’m not so sure, Donna. I don’t think it would have happened if the show weren’t ending this season, considering the prior history of Josh and Donna. But, alas, all’s well that ends well, right? And here’s hoping this story will end well.
Those of you who checked out of The West Wing after season four, you should come back for the end. It’s good again. Really. If the Josh/Donna pairing isn’t enough to entice you back, how about Rob Lowe’s Sam Seaborn? He was in the previews at the end of Sunday’s show.
Those of you who missed this fantastic episode, Bravo is airing it at 8 p.m. tonight. You’re welcome.
