Dancing With the Stars: Lisa Rinna named new cohost

She may have lost the dance trophy, but Lisa Rinna scored the ultimate win. The New York Post reported Wednesday that Rinna is replacing Samantha Harris as Tom Bergeron’s cohost on Dancing With the Stars.

That’s good news for you, the home viewers, who’ve had to suffer through some uncomfortable backstage interviews with previous cohosts. Neither of Bergeron’s former coworkers matched his personality or skills. They often cut off the contestants and never seemed at ease joking with the celebrities. Rinna is a natural. She has stellar talk-show skills, as evidenced by her Emmy nominations for her gig on Soap Talk.

Congratulations Lisa! Somewhere, Tatum O’Neal is calling her agent.
