It’s not often that I beg. But, here I go. CBS, please, please, please, for the love of all that is right in the zany world of television, make Sarah Chalke’s character, Stella, Ted’s future wife and the mysterious “mother” we’ve been hearing about for so long.
Chalke was brilliant in the role of Ted’s new doctor. And talk about chemistry. Sorry Robin Sparkles, but even you couldn’t outshine Stella.
The clues are there that Stella may be the future Mrs. Ted Mosby. She attended the same St. Patrick’s Day party that Ted did, and I’m betting that yellow umbrella belongs to her. I’m not sure how Chalke could possibly manage doing the role on Mother while working on Scrubs next season, but I hope somewhere, somehow, it happens.
As for the much-ballyhooed Britney guest role. It was anticlimactic, to say the least. She only had a few lines, but she did a decent job. And thank you Britney, for not chewing gum or talking with that weird accent.
I’m just sad that Britney got all the ink from the TV press for last night’s episode, when Chalke rightly deserved the press. She stole the show. And that’s not all. Stella stole Ted’s heart and mine, too.
I loved her, too, Tube Talk Girl. And you're right that she should have gotten all the press.
ReplyDeleteThey were great together.
Yes, they were! And that date was about the sweetest thing I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best HIMYM episodes ever. I loved the "Magnum" line to Ted when he was sporting the mustache.
ReplyDeleteSarah fit in so well with the cast. Fingers crossed too that she's the mom.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was hilarious how the whole gang went to see the doctor. That was funny.
And that 2 minute date. Swoon! I forgot how much I like Ted.
Loved the episode, couldn't stand Britney, loved Chalke, and would love for her to be the mother.
ReplyDeleteOne problem with her being the mother, she has an 8 year old, don't you think the kids would remember having a much older half-sister, which means they now know who their mother is.
Interesting point about the sibling, but with some creative writing, I think they could get around it!
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you, Jennifer! Sarah MUST be the mother, please CBS. Her Stella was the best guest they've had ever.
