Las Vegas canceled

NOOOOOOO!!! They can’t do this. It’s unjust. It’s unfair. It’s, it’s, it’s an outright abomination.

I just opened up my e-mail to find my inbox overflowing with messages from loyal readers who are outraged that NBC has canceled Las Vegas. I feel you, Tubers. I don’t think there exists a strong enough adjective to describe my anger and indignation. Let’s just say that “pissed off” doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Las Vegas is one of those shows I look forward to watching every week. It’s not complicated or emotionally taxing. It’s just like the city itself: FUN.

Yes, I understand it’s a ratings game, and the show hasn’t reached high numbers this season, but it’s on Friday night. It’s not exactly a night when many people are home watching television.

The real tragedy in this decision is that for five long years, fans have loyally watched this show and won’t get any kind of closure. Last week’s two-hour season finale, that was full of cliffhangers, is the last new episode you’ll see, if NBC has its way.

Will Delinda have the baby? Will Cooper retain the casino? Will Casey be alive? We’ll never know, if the show doesn’t return at least for an episode or two to wrap up the loose ends. At least we got to see Sam finally admit that she still loves Casey. I guess that’s something.

For those of you who refuse to take this news passively, I encourage you to get on board with the fan campaign to save the show. Let’s hope it has Jericho-style results.

For details on what you can do, head over to Las Vegas the Series to join the masses. (Thanks to Allison for letting me know.) Make me proud, Tubers.

We gave this show five years. The least NBC can give us is a decent ending.

You've got to be kidding me. What the $#$$ NBC? If you think I'll be watching Lipstick Jungle, get real.

Las Vegas is one of the best shows out there. This sucks.

I am so disappointed in this decision. You're right Tube Talk Girl that this show fits a niche unlike any other show on TV. It's fun! All the shows on are crime and drama and centered. I love light on Friday nights.

I HATE NBC! Why should fans ever invest in any of their shows? We watch them for give years and then get cancelled on a cliffhanger! It's horrible. I'm never watching another one of their shows again.

Anonymous said...

Why would they do this? So we can see My Dad is Better Than Your Dad? OMG! Give us an ending you BASTARDS!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Ben Silverman wants us to watch 30 Rock, remember? First they're going to can Las Vegas and then Friday Night Lights. Besides Scrubs, those are the ONLY three shows I watch. Adios NBC! Hello the alpahbet network.

Anonymous said...

If they were going to do this then why not inform the Vegas writers before they penned the last episode, so they could wrap things up and give LOYAL fans who've been watching for five freakin' years some closure. This is just a slap to all of us who've watched NBC shows. Who is making these stupid decisions? I also heard we may not even get a Scrubs finale. They might as well replace that peacock with a hand giving us the finger, b/c that's what it feels like.

Las Vegas is the last show in the genre that was perfected by Love Boat and Fantasy Island--multiple storylines, random appearences by b-listers and musicians and unapologetic balloon smuggling. I'm very disappointed that NBC would cancel such a FUN show. Don't do it peacocks.

I love this show! I was having so much fun spending Friday nights with the gang at the Montecito! This season was fantastic and I loved Tom Selleck as Cooper. I can't believe it's all over, and without any kind of an ending! What about the baby? That is just plain cruel of Ben Silverman and NBC.

.. What in the heck is going on with NBC???? Las Vegas was a fantastic show! You knew every week that you were going to laugh out loud, the cast and the humor made this a show 'not to miss' I looked forward to watching weekly.
Put it on any night but Friday and I bet you will have success in the ratings!!

Anonymous said...

Save Las Vegas!!!
All participated. You remember yourselves that what happens to Las Vegas can happen also to your preferred program if we do not decide ourselves to make to end this "slaughter".

Anonymous said...

NBC, you've pretty much guranteed that I never watch another one of your shows again. What a way to treat your fans. That's lousy business.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Ryan. Change the peacock to the finger. That's what NBC does to fans. FU!

Anonymous said...

Gary S. Thompson said the strike screwed the show that they were supposed to come back with more episodes. I don't care about the numbers or the money. I only care that they cancelled a brilliant Friday night fun fest without wrapping up storylines we've invested in for FIVE years!

Anonymous said...

No wonder Jay Leno always makes fun of NBC, they don't know how to keep their fans happy. And you want us to be loyal to you. FU

Anonymous said...

Picture this for a headline: "America Cancels NBC"! :)

For a while there I thought NBC was making a huge comeback.

It's back to Fox for me.

Anonymous said...

Please! Save Las Vegas!!!!

Anonymous said...

OK, so they've jerked us around for years with Scrubs. Now, they've canned Las Vegas and probably FNL. I'm sorry Mr. Silvermen, I don't like 30 Rock! This sucks.

Anonymous said...

Preach it, girl! Your last sentence says it all.

Anonymous said...

A show like that can't last forever...but I want to see a proper end that wraps up all the charaters.

Anonymous said...

Oh man. I am really sad, i live in Italia and love this serie. I am watching this on DVD and i am on season 3. I ahve lot to watch but to know that i don't going to see the end its frustrating. Omg i can't belive it =/

Anonymous said...

with the strike and all the other bs going on with network programming Las Vegas was a bright shining star.......even if you did have to TiVo it on Fri. nights and watch it on monday....SHAME on NBC

Anonymous said...

I think it is bull s**t!!! Las Vegas is the only show i watch on tv anymore, five great years, for what a half assed ending. I will not watch anything on NBC anymore, they do this way to much. I used to watch Crossing Jordan too, then they decided to not bring it back i was pissed but Las Vegas was still there so it was ok but now this is ridiculous. They could have atleast finished the last 3 episodes in this season, or at the very least givin us a real ending. If they think us Las Vegas fans will invest our time in another one of their shows, i believe ther out of their minds, for what, so they can cancel it when it gets good. We deserve a good ending, a real ending, not some f*****g excuses. I think it was just starting to get even more interesting. The two characters i will miss the most are Sam and Polly. Polly didn't really have a big role but she was funny as hell, and Sam was one of a kind. R.I.P. Las Vegas
F**K NBC

I Just Started Watching Las Vegas this season and I was devasted that they cancelled it, Oh no make that pissed i loved that show they need to give us fans a proper ending at least i mean come on what kind of ending was that.
If you think i am watching NBC Shows again well i am never investing in one of your shows again cause they will probably just end like Las Vegas did.

NBC SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

I can't believe NBC cancelled another good show. I mean, Boomtown,American Dreams, Lottery, now Las Vegas. Come on! I hate that god shows keep getting cancelled.

Anonymous said...

NBC is just asking for it arent they? After watching the "finale" again, it just pisses me off that NBC wouldnt let GST get his ending! If only he had been able to do his 3 episodes he wanted, we all would have been much happier people

NBC renews ER when it's in 48th place and LV wins its time slot every Friday night. FRIDAY...the worst day for TV and LV wins. NBC wants as much reality tv as they can get because it's cheap. It keeps Heroes, and (i think) FNL but no LV? Keep those baby booties coming! Silverman is getting quite sick of them!

Anonymous said...

This is just unbelieveble you know but we have to work together to get a real ending!! If everybody helps we can make a difference!!!

VIVA LAS VEGAS!!! THE GREATEST SHOW ON TV!!!

NBC= Nothing But Crap

Anonymous said...

DON'T CANCEL LAS VEGAS!!! COME ON EXECS...WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I am so disappointed in NBC. You're making a big mistake! I love Las Vegas and watch it every week on the web. Putting the show on Friday nights was the first mistake and now canceling the show all together is just WRONG!!!

First CBS cancells Jericho Now NBC Vegas. THe Networks are stuck in the 70's when there was only SEVEN options 3 Networks 1 PBS & maybe 2 Indi. Back then Vegas could expect
ratings in trhe 20's.

We Now not only have 300 other networks but the internet, TIVO & it's clones & Recordable DVDs.
in the modern world The Networks Have to realize a 2.0 rating is the modern 20. The Neilson ratings system obviously can no longer keep up with the modern world & Like the VCR & 8-track tape MUST be replaced.

What the Networks around the worl forget they have the opritunity to appeal to a GLOBAL audience.

Time Warner here took away BBCA
in my area. This means no Torchwood
or Robin Hood. At least via TV. However I can wait a week & download these eps from The Pirate Bay.

Wouldn't it be cool if the Producers of both Jericho & Las Vagas went to TPB & cut a distrabution deal? Then shoot the series for the internet?

MAybe rather than try & talk the Networks into saving outr Shows we should petition the Producers to tell said Networks up yours we are taking our show to the NET.

Anonymous said...

Please give Las Vegas an ending, at least out of respect for all those fans who've been dedicated to it for the past 5 years! Have some class NBC!!!

Anonymous said...

It is just plain nasty to cancel a show so abruptly when there are so many loose ends. The fans of Las Vegas deserve a real ending to this wonderful TV show. I really liked the glamourous atmosphere of the Monticito. Watching the show was like taking a trip each week to a wonderful, glittering, alternate universe.

I also resent the fact that I won't get to lust after James Lesure and Joshu Duhamel every week. Those guys worked so well together and they are both so handsome.

Anonymous said...

Are you kidding me nbc? they have to be joking that was the only show NBC has going for them. I can not believe they even considered cancelling it! and when they finally do they give us no closure! WTF!!!! I hate NBC! I have never missed an episode and this is how they re-pay their loyal fans! Its a great show... is it because its not a reality show??? NBC SUCKS! AND THEY SCREWED THE ONLY FANS THEY HAVE LEFT. GOOD-BYE NBC!

Anonymous said...

Finally a show that is fun - great cast, I love this show and to think they are keeping shows like Lipstick Jungle to name one this is crazy. CBS has some of the best shows and this is why they would never cancel a show like Las Vegas, but then you canceled Kidnapped and your thinking of ousting Law & Order - fire the guys that are making these STUPID decisions and bring back Las Vegas and don't touch Law & Order you finally got a good team!!!!

Anonymous said...

well without james caan and nikki cox i've stopped watching so i'm ok with it!

Anonymous said...

i miss ed deline (james caan) cuz he was the MAN, and ok, NBC, WUT THE F*CK IS YOUR PROBLEM! seriously, this show ruled, please PLEASE bring it back, you cannot just leave us with delinda bleeding and going "the baby'! WUT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!

Anonymous said...

Im pissed, ive been watching since season one, ive seen them move this show from all sorts of days of the week to just cut the show off just like that is stupid. James Cann will he return after being hounded by the police for Mary's fathers murder? will we ever see mary again? delinda and danny did they have the baby and are they still together. I really thought the show was turning a corner, yes they lost a few cast members but adding cooper gave a new look to the show. He made it seem like everyday your in for a surprise. I loved it. NBC is going going to go downhill if they continue to end shows with out proper finale's.

My last question, does anyone know how the cast feels about this?

ExVegasDude said...

This is beyond unbelievable! Cancelling 'Las Vegas' & 'Journeyman', but having a spin-off of "The Office"?!?!? Who watches that ignorant crap anyway??? Everyone should go to http://lasvegas-theseries.com & join the campaign to save "Las Vegas" -- Also, I saw on the "Heroes" website that there's gonna be a 3-hour Season Premiere this fall (date to still be announced), so at least we have SOMETHING to look forward to, which is getting few & far between from this crappy network... GST is trying his damndest to do what he can, there was even 3 more episodes planned with the scripts written & everything, but his hands are pretty much tied, because it's all about the advertisers' money...This totally SUCKS!!! VIVA LAS VEGAS!!!

Anonymous said...

WTF? NBC doesn't know when it has a good thing. Granted, Season Five was pretty weak without James Caan, but at lease give them a season to wrap things up and not leave us with a cliff hanger.

I cannot beleive this.... I also read that Gary Scott. ask NBC for a proper ending and they told him he could only make a 5 min ending, he wanting a proper 2 hour sum-up. I am so mad, ABC also cancelled October road and now I have nothing to watch, everything is going to be either already started or not worth watching.....
really hating NBC

Anonymous said...

i hate this

they really should bring this show back and get rid of stupid shows thst barely get any ratings

Anonymous said...

Un-Freakin-Believable!!!
I'm in Total Shock!!!
This is SO WRONG!!!

Anonymous said...

Kudos to the anonymous poster who explained that the 2.0 ratings of today is like the 20 of past years. Anonymous is right. Vegas was getting 6 or 7 right, which is pretty good for a Friday night show. These aren't the ratings days of years past and networks need to realize that rarely is a show going to get 20 million viewers.

Anonymous said...

Yea, so NBC has saddened me a lot recently, Chuck didn't have its last 2 episodes aired for the seasons, and they canceled Las Vegas.

The only thing they have going for them is Heroes.

Anonymous said...

Enough with reality shows, we live with that day to day. We need Las Vegas because it takes us to a fun place..away from the everyday ordinary. Shame on you people that cancelled the show. Please bring it back.

Anonymous said...

This is garbage. Fist they cancel Crossing Jorden now Las Vegas! I've been watching this show with my mom since it started. I don't want another stupid reality show.BRING BACK LAS VEGAS!

Anonymous said...

I say we all just stop watching nbc till they bring vegas back. I'm done and i will not give them any ratings by watching heroes....this is BS

The show Jumped The Shark long ago. Good riddance.

As someone who has spent twelve years partying and gambling in Vegas and Tahoe for weeks at a time, staying in all the high roller suites and playing fifteen grand a hand at Baccarat, I can tell you that "The Montecito" is all B.S. I had far more interesting adventures in my Vegas and Tahoe trips, but nothing as ridiculous as what was storied in this dumb series.

The people who pine for the return of this show obviously have not spent much time in Vegas and just want to live some vicarious nonsense.

Anonymous said...

When the show was on Monday nights (when I was home and didn't have to DVR the episodes) I am sure it had better ratings. NBC decided to move it to Friday nights on a night when most people are going out or planning other things for the weekend. I think they were trying to weed out the show knowing full well that the move was going to severely decrease the ratings.

I was devastated when I learned that the last episode of the season would be the last one ever. I watched the show religiously from the very beginning. I have never been to Vegas and it was nice to watch the show and get somewhat of the experience (and the behind the scenes stuff you don't see when you are there) of being there.

I am deeply saddened by this to this day. I just found this blog and figured I would share the sadness that NBC has caused me. What a horrid way to end a show, too many damn loose ends. I want to see what happens to Delinda and the baby... we waited years for them to finally get together and for him to propose :o(

Anonymous said...

I was just talking about how excited I was for Las Vegas to start again and of course googled it and saw all of this...

I'm so sad, this show is seriously one of the best shows on TV and had the best season finale last year -- I'm dying to know what happens - PLEASE BRING IT BACK!

Anonymous said...

I ma furious that the show has been cancelled!

I have been watching the show since i returned from my holiday in Vegas!! I have bought all box sets and am halfway through season 5 and will be left with 'To be continued' knowing full well that the show will not be continued!!

Why cant they just make a one off to tie up the loose ends. And what is this crap i have heard about Danny and Delinda appearing in the Knight Rider movie with their baby??
I want to see them in LAS VEGAS and NOT KNIGHT RIDER!!!
NBC ARE IDIOTIC FOOLS!!!

Anonymous said...

WTF why is Las Vegas Cancelled. Even in the UK its one of the best shows, exciting, funny and loads of hot lasses. A perfect mixture.
NBC are just c**ts for cancelling it.
Please bring it back.

Anonymous said...

Please do not cancel Las Vegas. Thats the only reason i look forward to fall and winter. i do not know what to do now. Sandy from Coopersville Mi

Anonymous said...

Well, the most we can hope for is to see Danny and Delinda getting married and holding their baby in the backround of an episode of Heroes or Knight Rider, because the Montecito mande an appearance in each. (Heroes - where Nikki was a hooker and slept with Peter's brother, whose name I can't remember, in Vegas if you thought "when?") You know what, have Sam and Casey kissong, and have Ed and his wife (can't remember her name 'cause I'm so pissed) watching Danny and Delinda, maybe put Mary in there so we can have some real closure. Now the only good show left on NBC is Heroes, and last season was not so great compared to the first season. I hope another network will pick it up. Go CW! You have the best common sense and great writers!!!

Anonymous said...

You know what, have Danny take off his shirt in every episode. Then the pants. Throw a hottie like him in there naked or half naked, and you're sure to get a ratings boost. Just advertise him more.

Anonymous said...

that is a shame .. great show .. nice blog design, by the way!

Anonymous said...

Try airing it on a better night, In canada it was on friday nights. Get with th3e program NBC. NBC $$$$ you!!!

Anonymous said...

NBC is famous for this. Remember "Pretender and Profiler" were cut for the new Football league on Saturday nights. And that failed too. No wonder NBC is third place. They should have given it a better day and time and dump something with no fans.

Anonymous said...

You could at least let us see what happens. I am a single mother and when my daughter goes to sleep. I look forward to watching Las Vegas, but now I have been watching re runs and wonder what is happen. I think NBC is stupid for doing that.

Anonymous said...

Why was las Vegas cancelled. I just started watching it on TNT and I was really getting in to it. (even if it starts at 10 am) I would wake up that early to watch it!!! I wanted to know what happens with the baby cuz it's starts all over. So now that i had to look it up and I find out NBC cancelled it. I just hate NBC more then ever... that's why I dont even watch that chanel. I LOVE TNT!!

Anonymous said...

very upset and have been waiting for a new show...why would it be canceled? This just can't HAPPEN!

Anonymous said...

I don't think that I ever watched Las Vegas on NBC but they play it in order on TNT everyday, I watched the last one, so many cliffhangers for a show that was cancelled. I love it and I want it to come back!!!! How can get it to come back?

Anonymous said...

this is an outradge i bet you anything nbc ratings will go way down what will happen???? this was the only show i wtched on nbc

: ( not happy

Its becase reality shows cost nothing to make so anything that costs money to make is beyond NBC's capability.

Yes, they suck BIG TIME!
