Idol Chatter: Eliminations

by Becky Tennant and Bethany O'Neil

Sorry, folks, that this installment of Idol Chatter is a bit behind. But with work, the flu, and life, sometimes these things happen.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, however you may feel about it, we didn't miss much.

This week was the dreaded ‘60s week. We can't stand this part of the competition, and we feel that it is a bit unfair. Why make people sing songs from over 40 years ago when they are trying to be a "modern" Idol. We know; they should know all types of music. But we just think that this part of the audition is a waste of time. It is no wonder that most of the contestants bombed.

We did learn from this week that if you don't bring your game EVERY night, you will be going home.

Joanne Borgella and Amy Davis were voted out by the fans. Good call on that, too. Joanne wasn't ready, and Amy lacked a certain "star power." Colton Berry was sent home, as well as Garrett Haley. Neither of these two would have made it to the finales, but it would have been nice to be able to say goodbye to the Jessica Alba look-alike, Danny Noriega. His back talk and odd behavior left us with a sour taste in our mouths.

Hopefully next week won't bring us anymore "decade-themed" nights, and it will bring us some more talent and memorable performances.
