Cops: 20 Years and still going strong

I admit that I detest the FOX show Cops.

While many find it humorous to see Americans acting like drunken idiots, it bewilders and depresses me to see the kinds of behaviors that are frequently showcased on Cops. That said, I know there are plenty of fans of the show, as evidenced by its success.

Cops has become one of the longest-running reality shows on TV. This year marks the 20th season and 700th episode. To celebrate, FOX is airing a special Cops: 20 Years…Caught on Tape on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. ET.

Why am I - the gal who hates reality TV- discussing Cops, you ask? Well, funny story. FOX sent out the press kit for the show, and it included one of the most brilliant marketing tools ever: a Breathalyzer on a key chain. The note that accompanied the Breathalyzer informed me that, “It might prevent your being included in a Cops cameo.”

Brilliant! I’m excited to test out the Breathalyzer and see if it actually works. No, Tube Talk Girl isn’t above bribery or a few cocktails. Honestly, if the marketing device is clever enough, the show just might get a mention here, regardless of whether I hate it or not.

The new season of Cops premieres Saturday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. ET.

Jen, if you need any help trying out that Breathalyzer, let me know! :) It sounds like fun.

Bad boys, bad boys, whaccha gonna do?

I can't believe you don't like watching the stupidity going on in this country. Yeah, on second thought, it is kind of depressing. But, still, damn funny. Crooks are stupid.
