The West Wing: Election Day

Sunday’s episode of The West Wing gave us a glimpse of what goes on with campaign teams on the day they’ve worked toward for so long. Hint: It’s not what you think. Sure, they calculated exit-poll numbers and added electoral votes, but Election Day wasn’t just about the numbers. There were more hookups in this episode than on an episode of The Love Boat.

Donna and Josh finally did the deed. (Woo HOO!) Not to mention, several of their co-workers. Even Mr. and Mrs. Santos had time for a booty call.

The West Wing has been on such an upswing this last season, and Sunday’s episode continued the brilliance. C.J. seemed lost, at contemplating life beyond the White House. And one of my favorite all-time West Wingers, Charlie, finally got some lines. His line that C.J. could consider a career in world domination had me laughing out loud.

The final minutes of the show set the scene for next week’s episode about Leo’s death that will surely send me in need of therapy. When fictional characters die, I’m a blubbering mess. But, when it’s echoed in real life, as in the case with the sorely missed John Spencer, I’m inconsolable. Send meds, Tubers.
